Sustainability
Quality Materials. Sustainable Process.
Choosy. Meticulous. Uncompromising. When it comes to our materials and manufacturing, these all apply. We start with the highest quality materials, like organic cotton that is dyed with low-impact dyes. Our certified organic cotton is grown on farms in the Southern U.S. by farmers we actually know. After harvest, our cotton travels to the Carolinas where it is spun and dyed before arriving at our mill in Alabama.
We knit socks in very small batches at our family owned and operated mill. Our team of ten (including Mom and Dad) run the manufacturing process from start to finish. And, because our entire operation is under one roof, we're able to constantly monitor quality through each step of the process, minimize waste and deliver a stellar product. We do it all because we know a better process makes a better sock.
We like to keep it all close to home. Our packaging, labels and marketing materials are printed within a small radius of our mill in Alabama and Georgia.
Giving and Recycling. Our irregular socks are donated to homelessness shelters and community organizations in Alabama.
We have some socks that are not fit for donations. These, along with any manufacturing waste, are repurposed or recycled. When recycled, these are transformed into fiber used for carpet padding in the automotive industry.
We can recycle your old socks too! For more info, please see ourzkano Recycles page.

Care instructions
(General Care Instructions & Our Advice on How to take care of your socks)
Your zkano’s should last a long time. Here’s a few things we suggest to help them reach their intended lifespan.
We highly recommend sticking to our washing instructions for our organic cotton and merino wool socks.
Machine wash cold water
Wash inside out for best results
Tumble dry on low heat
Do not bleach
Do not iron or dry clean
Additional suggestions for increasing the lifespan of your organic cotton and wool socks:
How to reduce pilling
Pilling with cotton is normal, especially in products made with a high combed cotton content, such as our socks. To reduce this, we recommend a few easy steps. This is good advice for our wool socks as well.
Wash separately. Do not wash your socks with towels or other rough items (for example, zippers) that will agitate the soft fibers in the wash cycle.
Turn inside out to wash and dry.
Placing your socks in a mesh laundry bag will also help with this.
Bleaching is a no.
Never (ever) bleach your socks, y’all- even if they are solid white. Using bleach on cotton or wool socks will cause the fibers to break down, resulting in holes in your socks.
Drying
To keep your socks feeling soft and to avoid unintended shrinkage over time, do not dry them in a hot dryer.
Using a low temperature setting in the dryer is best for your socks.
Do not over dry them. This will reduce their softness and zap them of their vibrant colors over time.
Though it’s not necessary, our favorite way is line drying, especially our no show and anklet styles. This helps prevent pilling too.
Don’t wear outside without shoes
Natural fibers, such as cotton and wool, will not hold up to being worn on rough outdoor surfaces.
Keep nails trimmed
This will keep those annoying holes from forming in the toe of the socks.

I love Zkano natural cotton socks! They keep my feet cushioned and protected while on my long walks with my dog. i feel really good about socks made with cotton and made in the USA! This was my fourth order from Zkano and I plan to order from anywhere else.
This is my 2nd or 3rd time purchasing socks here. These are my favorites because there is such good cushioning in them, and they are so soft. I highly recommend these unique, affordable socks.
I rarely write product reviews, but I am so glad I found these socks. So comfortable, such high quality and the fact that they are organic cotton and made in the USA is the cherry on top. I wear these as every day socks, as lounge socks, and in the gym. These are the only socks I will be buying from now on. *Chef's kiss*
I LIKE THE NATURAL COLOR SOCKS, NO DYES. YEAH, GOOD CUSHIONING ON THESE CREW SOCKS. AHHHHH.
NOT SHIPPED OVERSEAS, NOT EVEN THE RAW MATERIAL. THAT IS REALLY NICE. REALLY REALLY NICE THESE DAYS. AM I RIGHT? AND THEN THE COTTON IS ORGANICALLY GROWN, SO NICE ON MOTHER EARTH. AHHHH. I WISH THE REST OF MY CONSUMPTION COULD BE THIS NICE. HELL I WISH I MYSELF COULD BE THAT NICE.
First, I want to thank this company for still making mostly cotton socks. Even more, these are the best fitting socks I’ve worn in decades. I have small feet for an adult, and usually socks are so big on me that the heel is somewhere up around my ankle. At a size 5 1/2, ordering the M size was perfect. It’s nice to have this option. The feel of these socks is cushy, soft, snug, and warm. Putting them on makes wearing shoes more comfortable for me. My feet are feeling so much better now that I have these!
Really feels nice on the feet, very nice. Small downside is ---as the day goes by the socks feel a wee bit tight around calves. Not awful, but would have been nice if it didnt feel like this after > 6hrs of wearing.
For my third order from zkano, I ordered the cushioned crew socks and the signature herringbone socks to wear with boots. These socks are amazingly comfortable. I wear zkano socks almost exclusively now.
I’ve been buying socks from Zkano for years now, and they never disappoint. The quality is always great—super comfortable, long-lasting, and they look good too. It’s nice to support a small American business that actually cares about what they make. Definitely recommend if you’re looking for solid, made-in-USA socks!
I've never been a cushioned sock person because my feet overheat very easily and I assumed it would be worse with extra sock - but no! these are ridiculously comfortable and not sweaty at all.
Aspire socks are just would I needed to wear for working at my farm, they are comfortable, stay up on my leg inside my boot, and are easy to remove, even when their all sweaty, also work great in tennis shoes.
I buy these socks for my dad every year for Christmas. Whenever I see him, he raves about how the cushioning helps his hammer toe and pressure points on the bottoms of his feet. He loves them!
I've been a repeat customer for these, multiple times. None better for lounging, working out, working and walking. Love them in natural and high cotton content too!
I absolutely love these new athletic socks. I have always bought the knee highs for work, which are perfect. Now I'm mad it took me so long to venture into the athletic sock category. I've been wearing some cheap, albeit American-made socks, but they are nothing compared to these! These are so well made, and very high quality. The only thing they need are slipper socks!
These wonderful socks are like hugs for your feet and ankles. I now have 6 pairs and can’t determine the older socks from the newer ones. Very well made!
These thick, soft, comfy socks exceeded my expectations by a country mile... and my expectations for these work socks were very high to begin with, based on previous buys.
Simply said, my feet are in love!
Please... MORE VARIETY, MORE COLOR, MORE SEXY in the Aspire sock line!
I generally order black and white crew socks. I am addicted to the gym, the links, the court, the trail. I have the bright colored versions, normally to excite notice and admiration. But sports socks should be plain, at least in my narrow world.
Plus, the socks are nearly indestructible, surviving poor machine laundering, a single man's intense neglect, and even the elastic remains elastic through athletic and washing machine ordeals.
One qualification on the durability matter : the crew socks are no match for sharp puppy teeth. But it may be assumed that time will overcome this misfortune.
So, I purchase the three-packs. Two for me one for puppy. No, I don't choose which one...
You will do well to follow my lead, dog or no dog. The value is indisputable. The choices many, and of course, this is a well run, quality and customer-first business which makes us both customers and partners.

I ordered the socks for my son’s Christmas present from a link he gave me. I noticed the M size came up. I thought maybe the socks ran bigger & I ordered them. I found out later the large socks were out of stock. I kept them for myself. During Christmas, a 15 day return or exchange is impossible if they were bought early in December.
Excellent socks, cushy, and not binding at the top! The best socks I’ve had! Still trying to order a large size but Zkano is still out.
I do think a notice on the website of when socks are expected to be in stock would be good customer service or a text to customers would also be nice. Communication is vital in a business to keeping customers happy. I hope this helps because you have an above average product. Thank you!
